We suggest using ice packs for ten to fifteen minute increments and taking ibuprofen. You should also eat cool to room temperature foods that are soft for several days after the implant. It is important to avoid any added pressure in the area, especially if you had a bone graft. We will schedule your follow up examination before you leave. During your follow up appointment, we check your implant and make sure it has healed correctly and isn’t showing any signs of damage or movement. At this point, you can go back to the foods you prefer, even though we still advise you to avoid hard food and chewing on ice.
